If you share Leo Politi's love for parks, then you're invited to join the Friends of the Parks and the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, to celebrate the Leo Politi Centennial. The celebration will take place at the park that bares his name.  Politi, a park advocate, wrote and illustrated "Tales of the Los Angeles Parks" and many award winning children's books. Bring your kids, there will be piņatas, Chinese kite flying, painting and many more activities for the young. So if you love parks and have a child's heart, come and celebrate the Leo Politi Centennial with us in 2009.

Montecillo de Leo Politi

I drive by the entrance to Montecillo de Leo Politi everyday, so today I figured I would check it out. Up the hill (a quick drive if the gate is open, a short walk if it isn't) is a fee-use small park. The cache is located a short walk up the hill from the place you can first see the grass field.
